AIR Workshop: Getting the Best from Your People

Managing employees of your restaurant can at times present you with some of the most challenging situations with running a business. Not dealing with issues in the right way can have a big impact on an independent restaurant as every employee’s contribution has an impact on how well things run.

Some managers find themselves in situation where they know that they need to do something but there is a fear of getting it wrong, making things worse or things ended up in an Employment Tribunal.

In this workshop attendees are asked to bring along real-life situations that they are facing and Mark Pearce, the founder of (my) hr director will be on hand to answer your questions and find pragmatic solutions to help you.

Here are some examples of issues that could be brought to the workshop:

  • Managing employee performance including giving feedback and taking disciplinary action

  • Dealing with attitude problems

  • Responding to grievances

  • Managing health issues

  • Resolving communication breakdown between two or more team members

  • Motivating your team

  • Reducing staff turnover

  • Employees resisting changes you want to make

The workshop will be tailored to what those attending want to focus on. Attendees will be asked to keep the content of the meeting confidential and not to use the real names of any employee being discussed.
